Designed in the 12th century under the reign of king Saint Louis, Saint-Denis basilica is the first gothic style masterpiece in the history of architecture. The church is dedicated to Paris' patron saint Saint Denis, who miraculously walked holding his own head after being decapitated by the Romans. From the Middle Ages to the years following the French revolution in the 19th century, all of the French kings and queens have been buried here. You'll get to discover this impressive monument and the fabulous tumbs it houses.
